        Here's a stupid idea, taken from any kernel source server; create a 'LATEST_IS_2a<whatever>' file and dump that into the repository each time (while deleting the old one). That way, we can keep the sources just as 'hypermail' but there will be some visual indication of what release we're on. And really all you CVS users should do then is grab that file, instead of the entire source tree. If different, then you go back and grab the entire source tree. Otherwise, don't bother.

        Also, remember folks, our main DNS is going down in a couple of hours today, March 10th, (my original posting to the list about it never made it through, I'm assuming administrivia got it for some reason) which means reaching the CVS tree will be slightly difficult (you just have to wait for ns1 to timeout)....
