Lastly, I'd like to highly recommend changing the LOCK file timeout from 1 hour to 60 seconds. When a huge rush of mail comes in for any single mailbox, all the HyperMail processes stack up and contend for output, but they only cycle once an hour. Cycling once/minute has been VERY effective here.
