Missing message ids

Here's a message that 2a20 splits into 2 messages! Older versions of HM could handle this, but they didn't give the second message an id. The newer versions just ignore the included part. For the email below, the first message would contain the message down to just before the second "from " line. The second message gets the rest. The newer versions of HM don't write out the second part at all, they just drop it, complaining that the message id is missing. The problem is that extra "from" line - it's appeared many times in my archive, on messages from different people. I couldn't reproduce the strange header line, so I've copied one here, and edited out the sender's information. Here are the different formats of this header line that I've seen:

>From someone_at_someplace Fri Apr 16 04:52:35 1999
>From someone_at_someplaceFri Apr 16 04:52:35 1999 (no space b/w name,date)
>From someone_at_someplace Sun Mar 14 17:15:06 -0500 1999 (TZ in date)

Can HM be changed to handle this?
