It's been 3 weeks, and I haven't seen any other volunteers for the job. So if I don't hear any objections soon, I will try to assume the role I described earlier.
Ashley, can you give me CVS write access?

Does anybody object to branching the current code into a 2.0 stable release and a 2.1 head for new features?
Does this look like the right sequence for implementing the branch?: edit patchlevel.h to VERSION "2.0.0"
cvs commit patchlevel.h
cvs rtag -b 2.0.0 hypermail
maketgz
upload to sourceforge
edit patchlevel.h to VERSION "2.1a0"
cvs commit patchlevel.h
