I don't think it works on any platform (judging on the looks of your problem).

Anyway, I just tried to build the latest CVS sources and I got this:

% make
gcc -c -g -O2 base64.c
In file included from base64.c:15:
hypermail.h:86: trio.h: No such file or directory make[1]: *** [base64.o] Error 1
make: *** [hypermail] Error 2

% find . -name "trio*"
%

... there are no trio files in CVS!
