Re: Time-based archive subdivision

There are some issues here that need to be discussed once we get 2.0 out the door. I can see how a new means for maintaining a database (such as gdbm) could solve some of the the cross-archive linking as well as greatly increase the performance of incremental message addition. This definitely needs serious discussion before we implement it as it will be the basis for future version as well.
