 I've tested this with the latest version and it ignores any "Content-Type: application/pgp-signature" mime sections. Have you checked the Content-Type: of the signatures you're getting?  Are you trying to remove attachments that are already in your archive? If so, I'd guess you should "overwrite = 1" (assuming you aren't using the incremental mode).
