Is the From on these lines right at the beginning of the line or has got a '>' before it? It did when it got here, but often mail systems protect any leading '^From ' that they see in this way.
If the 'From ' _is_ at the start of the line then I'm not sure how hypermail could distinguish this from a 'real' header (and therefore the start of a new message). My feeling is that your mail system needs to be setup to escape '^From ' within the body of messages.
